Vancouver Neighbourhood

Yaletown

Where century-old brick warehouses became some of the city's most coveted loft residences — steps from the seawall, the marina, and Vancouver's best patios.

Once the rail and warehouse heart of Vancouver, Yaletown reinvented itself in the 1990s when its heavy-timber brick warehouses were reborn as loft residences. The old loading docks are now sun-soaked patios, and the freight streets — Mainland and Hamilton — are lined with restaurants, design studios, and boutiques.

Today it is one of the city’s most walkable neighbourhoods: a dense, design-forward pocket of heritage lofts and glass towers wrapped around the False Creek seawall. The Roundhouse, David Lam Park, the marina, and the Canada Line are all within a few blocks.
